stephanie mayabb

quick stats:

nickname: "spiller", "spill" - 1) for a road crash where I was toppled & had a wheel taco-ed on my head. I still can't remember it, 2) it never fails that I'll be wearing what I eat. you can bet on it.

hometown: Navy brat- 10 cities

resides: colorado springs, co

dob: 7.25.1978

racing for: 4 years

fave trail: Trail 401 in crested butte, colorado in wildflower season, Kenosha Pass to Georgia Pass through the aspens in fall

most memorable race: the sprint finish at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb where I beat the former boyfriend who got me hooked on mtb racing. Did I mention it was at 14,110 ft.? I'll never let him live that down.

education: B.A. in Journalism from Texas A&M University in May 2000. In November 2000 I became a Barnett's certified bicycle mechanic.

fave music to ride to: paul oakenfold, cake, whatever makes me feel like dancing on the pedals. like rob zombie "living dead girl"- you can't help but put the hammer down to that!

why I ride: I feel most alive when I ride. It is a source of so much freedom in my life... whether cruising vintage-style around town, riding the road, or breezing downhill on singletrack.

other activities: skiing... staying away from the lifts & riding bowls like Loveland Pass is so sweet! road tripping to ride & camp in my outback... night riding!

aspirations: I get excited just thinking of the possibilities! I want the ski/bike bum life & the means to make it happen! (I ski bummed at Keystone as a kids ski school instructor and IÕm so not OK with the Ramen Noodle-budget that comes with it!) I look forward to exotic travels, endless singletrack and living life fully in the mountains... all with the proverbial dream-guy, of course
